Situated just to the south of Bordeaux, the Ciron is a small, calm tributary which, given the choice perhaps, would go completely unnoticed. And yet, this waterway is exceptionally rich, earning a reputation among naturalists as a veritable « Noah’s Ark » of biodiversity.
This biodiversity is under threat from the proposed new high-speed rail line linking Bordeaux and Toulouse. The battle against the project, which also poses a threat to the Sauternes Appelation, rages on.
Discover this precious, fragile tributary in a special edition of Cap Sud Ouest on France 3.
